Tibb and the IMA KZN Clinics

Over the past three years the Ibn Sina Institute of Tibb has invested more than R430 000 into the running of lifestyle awareness programmes at the IMA clinics in Malukazi and Marianhill.

The new 12 month agreement, signed on the 20th of February 2014, not only signalled the importance of collaboration between the two organisations but, with an increase of more than 27% from the previous budget, highlighted the value Tibb places on the activities of the IMA in KZN. Tibb has committed itself to funding an operational budget of R204 250 for the year 2014. This budget includes gardening, catering, workshops, travel, administration, communication material and management of the programme.

Tibb also finances two staff nurses – one in Malukazi and one at Marianhill clinic. Their role is to provide a full comprehensive health education serve to as many patients as possible, who come into the clinics. This is in addition to two mass community health education programmes, which Tibb makes possible on a monthly basis, wherein workers see more than 100 people, all of whom are provided with meals by Tibb.
