By the grace of Allah together with your blessings and duas our inaugural IMA Ladysmith Cataract project in conjunction with La Verna hospital was successfully completed on this Mandela day 2019. Our ophthalmologist Dr Asgar Sahib performed the 15 procedures on indigent patients seeking the right to sight once again. It was a truly an emotional and joyous occasion for all parties concerned. Some of these patients had been given appointments for cataract surgery in a year’s time at the local state hospital. The joy on their faces together with the gratitude shown was there for all to behold.
Each patient was given an IMA gift bag which was accepted with humility and delight.
Jazakullah to Dr Sahib and to all (IMA members and La Verna staff ) whose endeavours ensured a memorable occasion. Allah is great.
