IMASA Johannesburg Branch Annual Nelson Mandela Cataract Camp – 2014

The Islamic Medical Association of SA [Jhb Branch] decided to give back more than 67 minutes of their time this Nelson Mandela Day. As part of the celebrations of what would have been the former President’s 96th birthday, the IMASA Cataract Committee booked more than 70 cataract operations and for many of their patients, the gift of sight is the only gift they need.

Each patient received a gift hamper, which included toiletries, washing powder, eye drops and an English translation Quraan.

The Opening Ceremony took place on the 18th July 2014
