Our IMASA, Eastrand Branch collaborated with JUSA (Jamiat Ullema of SA) once again provided their ANNUAL health and screening day to the community of Benoni.
The Branch received assistance from over 40 Health Professionals including GPs, Dentists, Nurses , Optometrists and other Allied Health Professionals. They were also assisted by over 30 general volunteers, predominantly from the Benoni Muslim High School.
The event offered FREE health screening to the public with a total of 215 patients screened. MAP and Green Crescent assisted the branch in HIV testing with 47 patients tested on the day.
CPR demos were also offered by ML Moeneeb Martin & Talha Suleman (BLS INSTRUCTORS).
Allied Health Professionals i.e. OTs, Physios, Speech Therapy and Biokoneticist also providing free consultations and advising/referral of patients. Health promotion in these fields were done in accordance with the theme of Ergenomics and Postural advice. Many patients were given information leaflets with their consults. Other Allied Professionals that assisted at the screening was a Chiropractor and Podiatrist.
The Eastrand Branch would like to thank all volunteers that gave their time and efforts making the day a HUGE success.
