After months of planning, the annual IMASA Durban Branch Annual Golf Day was held on Sunday, 2nd October 2016 to coincide with the last day of the Islamic Year!
The format of the golf was a shot gun start 4 ball better ball alliance with two scores to count. With over 100 players in attendance it was the perfect way to start the golf. After a rain deluge on Saturday night there was concern that either the course will be closed or they will not allow carts. However, both concerns did not materialise. We had good weather – no rain but very windy and cold with 108 players playing.
On two holes we provided snacks for all the players which by all accounts was enjoyed and most welcomed. All players finished by 11h30 after which the cards were checked and presentation of prizes was done at 12h10 including some lucky draws.
A buffet lunch of soji, chicken biryani with all the accompaniments was served (vegetable pasta for the vegetarians) and ice cream and chocolate sauce completed the meals. This is annual fundraising event offers many members [Healthcare Professionals], Corporate Companies and Organizations an opportunity to participate, whereby the funding raised are utilized for the 3 IMASA Durban Healthcare Clinics and Mobile Clinics in underprivileged areas.
The IMASA Durban Branch from humble beginnings attended to 1000 patients monthly and is now servicing the medical needs of just over 6000 patients per month. Alhumdulillah
