MAP and IMASA Klerksdorp Branch were fortunate to have been given an office at the Medical Surgery of Dr. Desai. We facilitated Counselling, Health Promotion, HIV Testing, TB Screening and Referrals, STI screening, NCD (Non Communicable Disease) management and assistance, Medical Male Circumcision referral and mobilization, Reproductive health outreach projects and Psychosocial support to the public.
A local IMASA member donated needles, glucose sticks, a glucose machine and BP monitor for this wellness campaign which makes the HIV Testing all in compliance with the requirements of Department of Health.
We also had an informational table where we distributed various pamphlets and booklets available to those who visited our office.
We host these family wellness health days once a week at the MAP/IMASA Office where we put our gazebo outside and offer free Blood Pressure and Glucose testing to the public. We also mobilize the males for circumcision and those who wish to get tested for HIV, which is located upstairs to test in private in our counselling room.
Our campaign has grown tremendously and we also advertise our wellness campaigns in our local newspaper. We have streams of people benefitting from this programme Alhumdulillah.
