Cancer Awareness Programme

On Saturday the 15th October 2016, the Islamic Educational Centre in collaboration with IMASA LADYSMITH BRANCH hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. Ladies of the community attended to support the campaign. The programme consisted of a presentation by Nusrat Kader, a chiropractor and breast cancer survivor, who enlightened the audience on cancer and chiropractics. Two local cancer survivors also shared their journey. The guest speaker for the day was Linda Meissner, a clinical psychologist who highlighted the psychosocial aspects of cancer.

The afternoon ended with tea and free breast screening conducted by Matron Shah Begum Mathadeenand local ultrasonographer Khadija Patel.
