IMASA in collaboration with Uwais Qarnie & MAP – Health Day

The IMASA Jhb Branch in collaboration with Uwais Qarnie Islamic Centre & the Muslim AIDS Programme, hosted their Annual Free Health Screening Day on Saturday, 03rd February 2018 in Robertsham Gauteng. The programme commenced with each recipient registering at the 1st station and then moving to the second station, where their weight, height & BMI were calculated. A dietician was available to answer any questions pertaining to weight issues and living a healthy lifestyle.

Each person then proceeded to the Blood Pressure Testing, Glucose Testing, & Cholesterol Testing stations, with a Doctor available explaining the finding of each screening and what would be the best way forward should they need a referral etc. We were fortunate to have other specialties as well, such as; Optometry, Podiatry, Dental, Speech & Hearing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Aafiyah Healing & CPR Demos.

Many of the patients took the opportunity to visit all the specialties even if it was just to educate themselves as well as having an HIV / AIDS Test done by the Muslim Aids Programme. [MAP]

A total of over 300 people were screened from 09h00 till 15h00.

We would like to thank all our medical & general volunteers for assisting us at this event.

A special thanks to the committee members of Uwais Qarnie Islamic Centre who fed and pampered each and every person in attendance and gong the extra mile by hiring a bus to bring in the elderly from various Homes in the Robertsham area.

To everybody who was involved – may your efforts be accepted and may you and your families reap the benefits & rewards AAMEEN
