Alhamdulillah, a dinner was held last night (23rd August 2017) by AWQAF SA, at the Al Ghazali College Hall in Erasmia, welcoming the new Turkish Ambassador to South Africa. Guests from many Islamic organisations were present including many Ulema. Representatives from various other embassies and government officials graced the evening with their presence.
Chief Mandla Mandela (the grandson of Nelson Mandela) was in attendance too.
The Turkish government was praised and thanked by the various speakers for the humanitarian efforts that they are making throughout the world.
The Ambassador spoke on some successes that the Turkish have achieved including in South Africa and possible partnerships going forward in many aspects in order to provide sustainable solutions to South Africans. Huzaifah Khan and Naeema Hussein Elkout (from IMASA Johannesburg Branch) had an opportunity to meet with the ambassador and gave her a brief introduction to IMASA and the work performed by our organization.
